As loyal as a… scuba diver? Hugo Bumfeldt is given a pet. The catch: Hugo is an alien boy, and his new toy is a human, in a wetsuit. This makes Hugo’s carelessness in his care for his pet amusingly painful to watch.
Had the film chosen the human perspective of the diver, it would have been a horror film. But as the title suggests, Hungarian director Éva Katinka Bognár instead sticks with Hugo. A sweet boy, but a little reckless, a bit rough. And yet: he really loves his tiny human.
